Summer cold drink with watermelon, mint and lemon on a wooden background. Copy space.jpg

watermelon fresca

natural electrolytes, vitamin c, antioxidants, and hydrating all blended together to make this DELISH drink!

I created this recipe after many days at the lake or in the pool and feeling like shit afterwards.  It always felt like no matter how much water I drank, I just didn't stay hydrated or feel good after a few hours.

I decided I needed something to help refuel my electrolytes, but wanted it to taste yummy at the same time.  So I tuned in, and was guided to this recipe.

And recipe confirmed! I whipped up my first batch for a day on the lake paddle boarding with my friend, Jenny and her friend Dave.  These were seriously the perfect refreshing drink while out on the water in the hot sun! On the way home, Jenny and I both commented about how good we felt after being in the sun all day! No headaches, not exhausted- so, mission accomplished! Enjoy :)

ingredients                &                  how to

> one small watermelon or half of a medium to large

> 1/2C - 1C strawberries, hulled and sliced in half

> pomegranate juice* optional

> coconut water

> juice of one lime

> raw honey

> ice

> mint

How to

Begin by preparing all your ingredients. Wash all your fruit before prepping. Slice up the watermelon and strawberries and add them into a blender.  Pour in pomegranate juice, lime juice, and coconut water. Drizzle in about 1t of honey and top with ice. Blend away.

Pour into cup, pitcher, juice bottle and top with 2-3 sprigs of mint.

Modifications:  use basil instead of mint, or lemon instead of lime. Bring the party into the evening and add a splash of vodka or tequila!
